Case in point: Oprah wore an opulent coordinated royal purple silk suit with of-the-moment cargo pants, to show off her expansive wardrobe of “all things purple.” The casual flex came shortly after the star-studded trailer for the film adaptation of The Color Purple musical released. The striking evening look was first pioneered by late designers such as Yves Saint Laurent and Azzedine Alaīa in the 1980s, but it feels just as fresh today. Leave it to Kylie Jenner, however, to give the rising trend her own twist while out and about in Paris last night. Forget the hooded gown Jenner made the case for the hooded mini instead.
